Medicare and Medicaid are great programs for people who cannot afford health insurance. But there is too much fraud and abuse draining these systems. They need closer monitoring and like the rest of the world who has co-pays or deductibles, those programs should as well even if it's just 5 or 10 dollars for a doctor or ER visit. As an ER and OB nurse for 13 years, I saw this system abused more often than not. And as for healthcare in America, any person, citizen or non can get treated in any ER whether they have the means to pay or not. We have the best healthcare in the world. Let's not mess that up. 95% of doctors I know are not in favor of this. Some of the best physicians plan on closing their practices depending on how this pans out. That can't be a good sign, losing valuable doctors.
