Each year more than 3000 people are killed by distracted driving and over 300,000 people injured by this reckless behavior.
Some within our society have shown their lack of respect for human life with distracted driving. With the arrival of texting technology it has become a rapidly growing plague that is not only killing Americans but also damaging our economy in medical bills, lawsuits, at home care, and the many bills that come with deaths and injuries.
It is time to tell Americans that we need to be more responsible when we are behind a machine that can kill people. It is time to show the people that the country will not sit by while its citizens maim each other for seconds of attention from others.
