Us High Schoolers count on our school to provide for us a mature learning environment where we can further our own maturity and adult experience. We count on the adults to act their age and set examples for us. How can we be expected to act like mature adolescents when we are singing and dancing in class? The 12 Powerful Words were created by a man named Larry Bell to help children better understand topics and text; however, they are juvenile at best and completely unnecessary. Us High Schoolers know the tools (words) we need to break apart a text and understand it. We have spent 8+ years learning and using them. I agree that review helps, but this is ludicrous and humiliating. I propose that the "12 Powerful Words" are removed from High Schools and limited to Primary and Middle Schools.
