As supported by evidence which came to light in an email leak, the Democratic National Committee Chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, demonstrated bias in favor of Hillary Rodham Clinton and against Senator Bernie Sanders during the 2016 Democratic presidential primary season. After agreeing to step down as chair after the leak, Debbie Wasserman Schultz was immediately recruited by the Hillary Clinton campaign.
