20-Year Federally Mandated Transtion to eliminate 100% of crude oil in all US transportation to electricity.

Created by B.C. on December 14, 2012

96% of US dependence on foreign oil (recent estimate) can be eliminated if all transportation in the US goes electric. 20-year federal requirement for all vehicles and gas stations to convert to electric fuel, in 5-year graduated periods of 25% of the national and local markets. Oil companies given initial monopoly on electric fueling stations at or near existing gas stations. Despite new projections of increasing US oil production, eliminating the purchase of foreign oil will have a significant positive impact on the US budget deficit. Stop oil fracking as it is environmentally harmful, and develop regional plan to eliminate coal despite objection locally. Ontario, Canada will eliminate all coal by 2014 and is the size of Pennsylvania in population. The US needs to finally innovate.
