The Simpson-Bowles Commission is accepted bipartisanly as a balanced, legitimate, and effective plan to reduce the deficit, strive to balance the federal budget, and get the economy back on a healthy track. The President and Congress both agree it's the best available plan that most of them approve of, or at least the majority of the plan. So why reinvent the wheel, when the Simpson-Bowles commission has already done most of the legwork and research, and Democrats and Republicans alike agree that most of their recommendations make sense? So Congress and the President should pass and enact Simpson-Bowles before Calendar Year 2013 expires. At least 90% of the recommendations, to give a little flexibility in amending it.
