Just over a year ago the Market Basket Board of Directors fired and replaced long serving owner/CEO Arthur T Demoulas. The employees felt so strongly that the entire company had petitioned to reinstate him. Those request fell on deaf ears. The company and consumers have both boycotted the stores and now they are losing money quickly. Arthur T has made an offer but despite the offer employees still are having their hours cut. Someone needs to talk some sense into this board before the company goes under and there are 25,000 people out of work in an area whose population is not really that large to begin with. The economy here could not afford to have this number of people hitting the unemployment line, welfare lines and so on.
