Guns need to be destroyed. Their numbers are too high. People should be encouraged to retire them when they are finished, just like they do old cars. Police Departments do accept and destroy guns. This will raise the price of guns. This will lead to newer safer guns. The NRA should be called on to participate. This is something we can do without any need for new laws. Gun Destruction can reduce gun numbers and therefore deaths.
