Robbery is much to common in this day in age. With sentences as short as 3 years for a class 2 felony robbery, felons may commit the crime a second time thinking they have nothing to lose, risking the lives of police officers with families waiting for them at home, not sure if there loved one(s) will return if a suspect is armed and willing to kill. If all possible felons thinking of committing a robbery know there is a minimum of a 40 year sentence for robbery, (armed or not) surely many would think differently about what they were about to commit themselves to. In all, I, a 13 year old boy, believe that with this threat to criminals, robbery could be minimized to the criminals who believe they have nothing to lose.
