“We AARP, are fighting to protect your future.” (AARP.org). Help us protect Social Security from the unfair cuts in benefits that our citizens have earned. Since the 1930’s, our government has provided it’s citizens with a strong foundation that older Americans can count on to protect them in their final years. Social Security has been a part of this country’s system for over 75 years, and countless citizens have invested and enjoyed the benefits they get from it. However, because of the need to address the budget deficit, our government is considering to cut some of the funds that go to Social Security. Lowering military spending on foreign affairs such as the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq will significantly help the deficit, push for the right cuts, and secure the future of our elders.
