Abandon efforts to cripple Social Security by adopting Chained CPI

Created by R.D. on December 31, 2012

All Americans have a vested interest in preserving the way Cost of Living Adjustments (COLAs) are calculated for Social Security. The Chained CPI will impoverish many future retirees when they need Social Security the most, by eroding its long term value. If the Chained CPI is adopted, retirees and seniors will effectively lose purchasing power exponentially over time until Social Security is essentially worthless.

Corporate America no longer "pensions" workers as they did for past generations. Social Security will be more important than ever for an aging population who are largely unprepared for retirement.

The less one has, the more critical their need for a solid Social Security system for the 21st century.
