Abandon gun control and instead focus on instituting policy to control and limit the sale and distributon of ammunition.

The 2nd Amendment protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms. In 2008 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled people have a right to have a gun for self-defense.
Therefore my petition does not seek to control guns. My petition seeks to control the manufacture, sale and distribution (including import) of ammunition. By creating strict rules governing the manufacture, sale and distribution of ammunition you can ensure that only individuals that have been proven trustworthy may buy ammunition. Any unauthorized sale and distribution of ammunition would carry stiff penalties and tough prison sentences. Ammunition becomes a “controlled” substance similar to narcotics used in medicine. It is not illegal; however it is strictly controlled.
