Abandon the "Smart Snacks in School" Nutrition Standards

Created by G.W. on August 25, 2013

We, the undersigned, wish to have the "Smart Snacks in School" nutrition standards abandoned in public schools. This will give students a greater choice in snacks that don't have to be healthy.

According to a survey conducted by Farm Rich, 49% of parents said 6 hours pass between the time their kids eat lunch and dinner. If students don't eat enough at school, then they'll have to consume large amounts of food, usually unhealthy, after school.

While the standards might make snacks at school more healthy, they will also most likely affect the amount of unhealthy foods kids eat at home. But, if students are given more choices of what they want to eat at school, they might not have to eat as much when they get home.
