Texas, Tennesse, South Carolina, Mississippi, Arkansas, Maryland, and North Carolina all have laws prohibiting someone from running for office if they don't acknowledge the existence in a Supreme Being. Pennsylvania discriminates against non-theists by affording special protection of the right to run for public office to theists only.
This is a clear violation of the U.S. constitution as it states in Article VI that "no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."
The aforementioned seven states each have laws that require you to adhere to some form of religion by requiring that you acknowledge existence in "Almighty God" or a "Supreme Being" in order to hold office.
Please amend or abolish these laws. Thank you.
