We need to realize that if criminals are willing to go to the extent of mass murder, they will not care about any Gun Free Zone. Whether it be a school, hospital, a movie theatre or post office, if someone is willing to disregard the laws prohibiting murder, the laws prohibiting weapons from certain areas will have no impact on the reasoning of the criminal.
Furthermore, as the saying goes, "When seconds count, the Police are only minutes away." The fact is, while law enforcement tries their best, They cannot be there quick enough. If we allow law abiding citizens to carry their firearms in public areas, a lot of these mass shootings can be prevented, or at least have their impact lessened.
Therefore, I petition for this government to abolish all Gun Free Zones in the United States.
