Columbus NEVER discovered America, yet we have a whole day as if he did!! Schools continue to teach students WRONG history! Native Americans are wrongly called "Indians" because of this fallacious "story" we tell our children that "Columbus discovered America, but he thought he was in India, and that's why we call them Indians." He discovered islands off the coast of Puerto Rico, hence, the West Indies. Let's STOP spreading completely incorrect history, and celebrating an event that NEVER happened!! If anything, we should be celebrating Leif Erickson Day!!
