Abolish and dissolve the House of Representatives

Created by T.W. on October 17, 2013

The House of Representatives is a redundant institution of our current government.

Like the appendix it once served an important function, but that function has long been forgotten. Now it is, in its best case, banal and useless and, in its worst case, life threatening.

Justifications for abolishing the House:

1. Redistricting and gerrymandering have rendered it completely unrepresentative of any logically defined local community.

2. It reduces Congress to a more manageable size (2 Senators per state) and allows for moderation on both sides of the isle.

3. Technology and the interconnectedness it brings allows for a more direct form of democracy that negates the need for House representatives.
