The Electoral College may have been useful at one time in our country's history, before we could track individual votes by the millions in real time across the country on election night. We the people were ignored in 2000 when Al Gore won the popular vote, that is, the majority of voting Americans. But before dismissing this as a partisan attack, let's not forget that on election night this year Mitt Romney almost took the popular vote while losing the electoral votes in a major way. Why should we allow the will of 126 million voters to be ignored while allowing a secret clan of 538 unknown individuals to elect our president?
