End the requirement that all Psychologists, and military civilian Psychologists, MUST have 1 year APA internship. There are thousands of excellent Psychologists that have graduated from APA approved colleges, but if the students are unable to get an APA approved internship, they will NEVER BE ABLE TO WORK FOR THE VA OR AS A MILITARY CIVILIAN PSYCHOLOGIST! These same students may go to the same college, and they have also obtained their 1 year internship, but due to the lack of APA designated internships available, many students must accept an APPIC internship to graduate. In many cases, these APPIC internships are excellent! These students, even if they have 20 years of prestige experience, will never be accepted by the VA or Military civilian Psychologists!
