abolish border controls between the United States and Canada to permit the free movement of persons and goods.

Created by R.D. on January 19, 2013

What I am proposing is the complete abolition of land borders between our two countries, supported by the establishment of a treaty that would allow the US and Canada to completely work together in law enforcement, intelligence gathering, North American border security, shared coast guard and rescue services. In addition, our mutual immigration legislation would be amended to permit the free movement, admission and residence of Americans and Canadians anywhere in the continent. Otherwise, our two countries would remain individually the same, like in the European Union. This allows us to refocus priorities and resources to work together in an effort to tackle true threats both within and outside our borders.
