Throughout its history, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives has served to harass, unfairly prosecute, intimidate, and extort money from the people of the United States. BATFE apparatchiks have sweeping powers that surpass those of the feared IRS. Time and again, their excesses have been investigated by Congress and even criticized by the Treasury Department. Yet BATFE continues its history of malfeasance with such abuses as gunwalking weapons used by Mexican drug gangs to kill on both sides of the border. Abolish this monster of an agency now.
