Civil Forfeiture is a broken law, it places too much power in the hands of police officers. The role of a police officer is to police people, not abuse people.
Police officers are people too, and with that there are good cops and cops who abuse the position of power and steal from the people. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE, this is not JUST
People are already distasteful of the police and the recent rulings of the courts. With how connected people are these days, not a day goes by without a new article on cases involving crooked cops abusing powers and taking peoples money.
I know this law was made for the war on drugs, but so far the war on drugs is more a failure than anything else.
