Abolish Columbus Day and replace with National Voting Rights Day the first Tuesday of every November.

Created by J.O. on November 12, 2014

Creationing a national holiday the first Tuesday of every November would allow a larger portion of the US population to participate in the civic duty of voting. It would also be a day to celebrate the people in history that fought for our right to vote.

The United States ranks 139 out of 172 countries when it comes to turnout with 25-50 percent of eligible citizens even voting.

A second comonent on this petition would be to abolish Columbus day as a replacement.
