Abolish the concept of a state, and view the country as one being for greater unity.

I believe that our country will function better if we re-organize our government to eliminate the concept of a state, treating the nation as a one large system, to which cooperation is essential. We could reform the legislative branch to consist of one house, simplifying the lawmaking process. People could vote for many different representatives, but never more than 500. This could be the number of legislators in the new congress. Local governments' powers could be expanded, along with those of the federal government.
