Originally created by Benjamin Franklin, the concept of daylight saving time was an important tool in early American life, particularly for the agricultural sector. However, given the implementation of electricity and the obvious transition from an agricultural based economy to a service and manufacturing based economy, daylight saving time has largely outlived its purpose. This petition seeks to abolish daylight saving time and return the United States to a consistent and uniform timekeeping schedule with the rest of the civilized world.
