Daylight Savings Time (DST) has been a contentious issue disputed by many after the implementation of the Uniform Times Act of 1976. Benjamin Franklin and experts in the economic, business, and energy fields supposedly declare that DST is beneficial, but Canadian psychology professor and neuropsychological researcher Stanley Coren and many others oppose found the detriments to outweigh the benefits. Coren conducted a study in Canada between 1991-1992 on DST and discovered an 8% jump in traffic accidents after moving the clock forward.
DST may be able to save 0.5% energy according to a 2008 report to Congress, but the uncomfortability and harm it incurs against Americans in and out of the US will continue if nothing is done.
Please abolish DST for the health and happiness of our people.
