Setting our clocks forward and back twice a year is an unnecessary ritual with no positives and several downsides.
DST was instituted during World War II primarily to save energy, but studies have shown that the expected energy savings have not panned out:

It also has been shown that there are spikes in traffic accidents following these shifts, and it makes international time conversions more cumbersome.
One could argue that changing our clocks twice a year is no big deal, but recently Congress tweaked Daylight Savings time to last weeks longer. This required changes to computer software and clocks that cost a lot of money and didn't create the expected savings.
Please end daylight savings time.
