This was derived from The Calder Act. Today, there is truly no necessity for the time change as it has served its purpose.
We are asking the government to remove the DST portion of the Calder Act.
With early darkness, families are prone to stay indoors and have no extra curricular activities or quality time. This makes it difficult for parents to do anything outdoors with their children after work hours. People remain in close quarters indoors and is more prone to the spread of sickness. Children are more prone to remain in front of gaming consoles and television rather than have fun outdoors. But, with the time remaining constant of summer hours, even one hour of extra light can make a difference.
