There was a time, long ago, when Daylight Savings Time was a good idea. It saved energy, and therefore money. Studies show that this is no longer the case, and that, in fact, the opposite is now true. Consider, for example, the Spring, when workers and students get up in the dark. This results in an increase in energy use for lighting. It can also cause one or more days of drowsiness, and reduced alertness or productivity.
Having to reset clocks twice a year wastes time and causes confusion, especially when the specifics vary by country, by state, or sometimes by intrastate region. Even computers and other electronic devices often fail to keep up with the changing "rules". Daylight Savings Time no longer makes sense. It is an outdated policy, and it should be abolished.
