Abolish the death penalty.

Created by A.M. on September 23, 2011

The death penalty has been statistically proven to decrease violent crime in all states which do not have the death penalty than those that do.

137 countries have already denounced this method of punishment and converted to long-term imprisonment instead.

Innocent persons have been executed in the past, whether proven by a faulty trial, new evidence being found to clear the convicted, or new testimony.

The arrest, investigation and conviction of a defendant is already emotionally stressing on his/her friends and family. There is no need to aggravate this with a death sentence. In addition, it is also unbelievably distressing for the convicted person. How would you live the remainder of your life knowing when and how you'll die?

We are each a person. Please abolish the death penalty.
