Abolish the death penalty.

Created by M.A. on March 28, 2013

Abolishing capital punishment in no way a pardon, or lessens the severity of the crimes currently punishable by death, but killing a man or woman for killing seems counterproductive to the end goal: no more killing. It also costs the government more, due not only to the process of executing a person, but the legal hoops the inmates must jump through in the hopes of having their sentence commuted or altered, only to wind up being executed anyway. Progressive thinking requires us to not only reprimand criminals, but also to treat them with the respect deserved, regardless of whether or not they showed respect to anyone else. If we truly desire to be the land of the free, we must be brave enough to take the path of justice, instead of revenge.
