The death penalty has been used throughout history to punish offenders. Often used to bring justice toward serious offenders.
However, the death penalty have no place in the United States today. It is a very risky punishment and could jeopardize innocent lives. The death penalty does not deter crime, at all. And sentencing offenders to death does not do anything but bring closure to the victims of the family.
Most death sentences are often imposed on murderers, especially heinous crimes. The death penalty is often biased on race, it is not fair.
The death penalty cost more than imprisoning criminals to life.
When you kill a human, you are not teaching them anything, you're just getting rid of them. "Blood for blood" has no place in modern countries.
