The death penalty is not helping the U.S at all. We spend billions of taxpayer dollars on executing people who are are guilty and are thought to be guilty. Execution also violates the 8th amendment where no cruel and unusual punishments can be served. Many innocent people have died because of the death penalty and now is the time to abolish it.
