The Death penalty is a complete failure. Every day, there is increasing evidence disproving capital punishment as an effective tool for justice.
Capital Punishment is absolute discrimination and is used overwhelmingly against the poor, minorities, and members of ethnic and religious communities. It is also unconstitutional because it flatly violates the eighth amendment of "CRUEL and unusual punishment." Because mankind is fallible, the risk of executing the innocent can never eliminated.
Capital Punishment is worse than dragging one on spikes, much more unconstitutional, and completely out of step with American Values and public opinion. Lets give everyone a fair, and second chance to restart their life.
