abolish the death penalty nation-wide. It should NOT be a state's rights issue. No citizen should be killed by the govt.

Created by A.R. on September 23, 2011

It's time we renew the push to abolish the death penalty nation-wide. No state should have the right to kill one of its citizens, no matter the crime. Too often race and class unjustly come into play in the decision to send someone to death row - and too often (even once would be too often) after death has someone been found not guilty.

Testimonies can be recanted, new evidence can be found, confessions can be confessed; but we cannot resurrect the dead.

Worldwide, the U.S. is among such company as Iran, China, North Korea, Pakistan, Libya, and only a handful more in allowing for the death penalty.

16 states have already abolished the death penalty, now it's time to do so in the 34 remaining states.
