Abolish the Department of Education. The educational achievement has not materially improved, so it is not effective

The department grants money to schools, and aims to improve education. The reality is it created more bureaucratic jobs, which represent overhead that detracts from the aims of education. The money spent on teachers is reduced, while the money spent on compliance with regulation is increased. The net effect is more taxpayer dollars are spent with out measurable return on investment.Further, parents and teachers are caught in rules. Their time would be better spent on teaching rather than compliance with rules from some elite people in Washington.
The data shows that America is slipping in world wide comparisons of educational achievement. So there is no justification for that department.
