We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Abolish the Drug Enforcement Agency

Created by J.P. on September 15, 2016

The DEA has become an organization that serves the private prison industry and the pharmaceutical industry. The War on Drugs has failed miserably, failing to decrease drug usage while resulting in the largest prison population in the world, mostly non-violent drug offenders and disproportionately black, as well as massive, violent black markets. The government should not be in the business of telling people what substances they can put in their body; this should be a healthcare issue. The DEA budget of nearly $3 billion would be much better spent on education and treatment. The DEA has demonstrated beyond any doubt that it is not working in service of American citizens, as it refuses to reschedule marijuana against overwhelming scientific evidence. Abolish the DEA now; end the drug war.
