Abolish the Electoral College

Created by J.T. on March 17, 2016

The Electoral College is not a democratic process for choosing the president. Instead of just deciding via popular vote, all of the power goes to the electorate of the states. This has a few problems. No less than four times in our country's history a man has been elected president even though his opponent received more votes than him (John Quincy Adams, Rutherford B. Hayes, Benjamin Harrison, and George W. Bush). As long as this system is in place, the United States cannot claim to be a true Democracy. The Constitution must be amended in order to rectify this flaw in our system.
