Abolish the electoral college.

In order to form a more perfect union, We the people ask with the best intentions, for the electoral college to be abolished. It is a disgrace to have it part of our democratic process. What it does is it takes the power from the people and places it into the hands of the states. The most recent election showed that this process allowed ten states to decide the election and caused the two candidates to campaign in only those states alone, making the other 40 states forgotten. Using only the popular vote to decide presidential elections would place the power of electing officials back into the hands of the people. This is something that our founding fathers would want, and that a deeply divided nation can agree upon. It is with this that we ask for the electoral college to be abolished.
