The electoral college is an artifact of a time before mass communication existed. Today, when we can transfer information instantaneously via electricity, the electoral college is only holding us back. 4 times in 58 elections, the popular vote has been different from the electoral vote. That is almost a 7% failure rate. We need to abolish the electoral college and put the power back into the hands of the people. Everyone's vote needs to count equally.
