As we have now seen again in 2016, the electoral college ensures millions of Americans’ votes are irrelevant to the outcome of an election because they don’t live in competitive states. Because of this, millions of Americans do not support the outcome of the election. Abolishing the electoral college would ensure the President is elected by ALL the people.
