The electoral college creates a fundamentally undemocratic election in which the votes of some citizens are weighted more heavily than others. This results in elections that don't reflect the will of the electorate and therefore it is contrary to our democratic ideals. The electoral college was created to maintain a barrier between the electorate and the highest office in the country. We believe that the citizenry should be trusted with the election of its highest office. We want direct democracy where one person has one vote, no more, no less. Abolish the electoral college and let the citizens speak for themselves.
