We call on Congress to propose an amendment to officially abolish the Electoral College from the Constitution.
It has been over 200 years since the Electoral College was formed and the reasons for its existence are not only now are unapplicable, but harm the very idea of democracy our country was founded on.
Electors can be swayed and lobbied and have no legal obligation to follow what the people want making it the least democratic system for our only power in the government.
The Electoral College gives votes from smaller states too much of an advantage over bigger states.
The Electoral College makes it possible for candidates to win the Electoral votes but not the popular vote, therefore not truly following the wants of the people.
End this corrupt system our nation was built upon.
