On election day 2016 citizens all over this great country saw that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton won the popular vote yet Donald Trump won the election. Many American citizens are upset due to this and the result is petitioning and riots all over the country. As a country we are to decide who will become the next president not just a select group. Our votes as Americans don't matter enough or else the candidate that the people want would be the candidate that the people get. Citizens shouldn't fear their leader, but instead look up to them to provide guidance for the nation in to a brighter tomorrow. I say that the Electoral College be abolished and instead for now on; on election day we go with who the majority of Americans want.
