Abolish the Electoral College

Created by B.A. on November 15, 2012

Abolish the Electoral College. Candidates should be elected by popular vote so that each vote counts. Currently, votes in Hawaii, for example, are completely useless because the election is decided before their polls even close. Also, with the current system, only votes in swing states decide the election. The Electoral College is the cause for many of the problems it is supposed to fix. For example, candidates only visit a few important swing states, leaving the majority of states not visited while Florida and Ohio get dozens each.
