The popular vote should be the basis for electing Presidents. The constitution says 'We the people', it can only be 'We the people' if the majority vote for the candidate. In 2000 it certainly wasn't 'We the people'. What's the use of elections if the majority votes for a certain candidate and the opposition candidate still wins? That is contrary to the wishes of 'We the people'. If you win 11/12 of the following states you win the election, the other 39 states and the District of columbia don't matter then.
California
New York
Texas
Florida
Pennsylvania
Illinois
Ohio
Michigan
New Jersey
North Carolina
Georgia
Virginia
This is the United States of America, Americans should vote for their President, not people of different states.
