The Electoral College is an anachronism.
With modern technology there is no reason that a national popular vote cannot be held. Furthermore, the Electoral College allows a candidate to receive a majority of the popular vote and still lose the election.
We urge the administration to pressure Congress to propose to the states for ratification an amendment to the constitution abolishing the Electoral College and replacing it with a national popular vote.
