We, the People of the United States, call upon the President to propose an Amendment to the United States Constitution to abolish the Electoral College. If our nation is truly a democracy and the symbol of freedom around the world then our Presidential Election should only consist of a Popular Vote. According to Gallup Polls, 62% of Americans would support having a Popular Vote only. That percentage has been rising since the 1970's which was when the House of Representatives passed such an Amendment by 339-70 that didn't pass the Senate. By passing this it would not only give voters a more direct say in their leader, but also make the voters of smaller population states more important. The Electoral College,quite simply,no longer fits the needs of our nation and needs to be abolished.
