What does a democratic vote in Texas represent to a sea of red? Or what does a republican vote represent to a sea of blue in New England? Nothing. It means some people are against the majority, but that doesn't matter. I remember asking my parents and teachers when I was younger why we don't actually get to elect the President of the United States. They always said the electoral college did that job. So I was always confused on why people voted. Why do we vote if our opinion doesn't matter. The US calls itself a democracy/republic and yet the people can't even DIRECTLY elect their own leader?
