We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Abolish the Electoral College and allow direct Democracy to take place

Created by C.H. on November 02, 2016

We are not democratic in nature. Webster defines democracy as "a form of government in which people choose leaders by voting." This is not the case for the American people. Currently, the system is flawed. When you vote, that vote, if not tampered with, contributes to the State's overall poll. The most popular one will go to an Elector in the Electoral college, who are the real voters. Essentially you vote for someone that 'promises' they will vote for who you voted for. Even though archives.org says that it is 'rare' for an Elector to go back on their words, and even though there are systems in place to prevent this, it still can happen. Some say it happened before, such as in the Potus 2000 election. It's time to make America's voting a bit more democratic. Your words and ideas matter.
